PATENITY TESTING

A paternity test is a DNA test used to determine if an alleged Father is biologically related to his suspected children. Paternity testing has been made famous by television shows like ‘Maury’ and have become commonplace in our society. There are varying reasons for requiring a paternity test: Suspicion, Legal issues like child support and custody, and paternity testing used for immigration purposes. Today’s technologies have made paternity testing as accurate as 99.9%.
Most paternity tests are performed via a tool called a buccal swab. Similar in appearance to a Q-tip, this long cotton swab is rubbed on the inside of the cheeks of both the Father and the child to collect DNA skin cells. This test is non-invasive and completely painless. Informational paternity testing is used when a man suspects he may not be the biological father of his supposed offspring and wants the results just for his own peace of mind. Legal paternity testing is used when the court needs to prove paternity for cases of divorce, child custody, child support, and other legal matters. This legal paternity test only differs from an informational paternity test in that it is notarized by the DNA testing lab and is therefore admissible in court.
Regardless of the reason for wanting a paternity test, many walk-in laboratories like Any Lab Test Now offer paternity testing at fair prices and can have results as quickly as 5 business days after the test is performed.
