DRUG TEST

Do you or someone you know need a drug test? Drug testing has seen many leaps in technology in recent years, and many different types of drug tests are available. Drug tests are typically used to monitor individuals for illicit drug use or abuse of prescription drugs. Drug tests are usually done by employers, parents, law enforcement, schools, and individuals. There are three main types of drug testing: Blood, Urine, and Hair.
Blood drug tests are not ideal for long term detection, but rather for the last few hours. Immediately following a car accident for example, would be an instance where a blood drug test would be used.
Urine drug tests are considered the standard for toxicology. Most pre-employment drug tests and those done by law enforcement are done using urine. Urine drug testing is cheap, efficient, allows for a longer detection period than blood (blood is hours, urine is days) and is easy to produce on the spot.
Hair drug tests are usually used for legal cases in court, and for employees who have a high-responsibility position within a company. Anyone can do a hair drug test of course but typically it is used for court or the federal government. For example, the FBI uses hair drug testing for all employees.
Drug testing methods vary greatly but give important insight to a person’s drug use.
